How old is your pet in human years?
Enter their age and, for dogs, their size. We'll tell you straight away.
How it's worked out
A dog's or cat's first year is roughly 15 human years, and the second adds about 9 more. After that, each year counts about 4 human years for cats and small dogs, about 5 for medium dogs and about 6 for large dogs, which age faster.
It's an approximation: breed, health and care change the result a lot. It helps you get a sense of which life stage your pet is in and which check-ups may be due.

FAQ
Is one dog year really seven human years?
No. That rule is a myth: the first year counts much more (about 15) and then the pace depends on size.
Why do large dogs age faster?
Large and giant dogs have a shorter life expectancy, so each year weighs more for them than for small dogs.
Does it work for rabbits or other pets?
No: this approximation is only for dogs and cats. In Miloop you can keep track of any pet.
